How far have I travelled?
I have been face painting since I was very young (about five), I used to draw on myself with Felt Tip Pens and even normal paint (This was NOT a good idea, so I wouldn't advise you to do the same thing) which was bad for my skin so my mum bought me some face paint sticks. These didn't work and hurt my skin as I tried to rub the crayons onto my skin. I gave up on those.
When I was eight I was going to a Halloween party and needed a face paint kit to paint my face as a cat. a few weeks after the party I rediscovered the kit and painted my face and my sisters face. I continued to use the kit when my friends came over and I would practise on them. after a while, the magic disappeared and the kit disappeared into the activity pile.
A few years later I 're'rediscovered the kit, and began using it once again. All the practise and talent I had picked up a few years ago came back to me in a fresher newer and better way. I painted at my friends house and was invited to bring it to a bonfire night party. After realising I had a talent in this and realising this was what I wanted to do, I began practising. The precious little Party Kit never lasted and the paints began to run out. Fortunate for me it was nearing Christmas. on Christmas Day I was delighted to find an enourmous professional face paint kit in a present bag. I pulled it out and counted the pieces and practised with it all through to January.
Now I have actually done a bit more with my Painting, I go to a friends house once a month where they invite over all their friends and ask me and my other Face Painting friend "Wild 'n' Wacky" to face paint for the kids who come over. I have painted at the Yearly Local Carnival with great success, and I am waiting for November where I have been invited to have a stall in a Craft Show.
Thank-you for reading, I hope you enjoy the rest of my blog.
